Founded in 1967 as Dartington Glass, this company's master glassblowers has been designing and creating high-quality glassware ever since.

This world-famous, hand-blown crystal factory has a visitor centre, factory tours and a huge glass shop for souvenirs at heavily discounted factory prices. There is a range of hands-on activities for visitors: create a hand cast, paint a glass or blow your own masterpiece.

Pannier Market

Lively little market. So called because goods for sale in the market used to be brought in pannier bags slung on the side of horses.

Tarka Trail

This is a network of paths, cycleways and a former railway route. This 'tarka trail' covers 180 miles stretching to both Exmoor and Dartmoor.

The 'Common'

A wide expanse of common land covering 365 acres through which runs an enjoyable 20 mile network of footpaths.

Also, at various times, Great Torrington has 'Sealed Knot' Civil War reenactments, and our famous bonfire that is second to none.
