The Battle of Torrington

A torchlight procession through town in period costume followed by a firework display plus a whole weekend of various events.
(Nearest Saturday to 16th February)

Fishing

Fishing season starts on 1st March.
River Torridge fly fishing season starts on 1st May.

Mayfair Day

Celebrations complete with maypole dancing, 'Cavalier' choir and the crowning of the May Queen. The 'Round the Tree' Race, where the athletically minded race across the 'commons' to Taddiport and back, also takes place on this day.
(First Thursday in May)

Mayfair Carnival Procession

With a variety of floats right through the centre of town, passing the Globe Hotel and a lively fair.
